The Nymphs’ Book of Hours: September 2025
On the first day of September, our Nymphs open their Book of Hours, and with it, the quiet unfolding of another chapter in the year’s turning.
September’s muse steps forward with golden hair and pale blue drapery, her arms full of dahlias, chrysanthemums, hydrangeas, and roses. These blooms, at once abundant and fleeting, form the month’s crown: the last blaze of summer touched already by autumn’s cooling breath.
Around her, orchards begin to ripen, and the light softens into its amber descent. The hush of change lingers in the air – warmth yielding, slowly, to stillness. The nymph’s presence is both radiant and restrained, a gentle hymn to beauty as it slips from fullness into memory.
This is the threshold season: of harvest and surrender, of petals giving way to seed, of hours shorter and shadows longer. September reminds us that transition itself can be luminous – that abundance, even as it wanes, is no less resplendent.
As the Nymphs’ Book of Hours turns its first page, we honour this fleeting glow – an eternal moment, preserved in story, in bloom, and in myth.
